Spreading The Word | Translation and Interpretation Blog

A blog for professional translators, interpreters, and their clients.

Spread The Word Blog: About The Blog | www.elingual.net

Spreading the word is the blog's purpose and goal.

But spread what word?

The word about respect, values, ethics, and good business practices for professional translators, interpreters, and their clients.

Why?

Because, in today's society the eagerness to make money and to be successful has overshadowed respect, values, and good business practices.

A majority of businesses and individuals are more concerned with their profits and less concerned with people.

They underpay their overworked employees and freelancers.

They provide cheap quality products and services to their clients.

The voice of the bad mega companies and stockholders has become far more louder than the voice of the good business owners, professional freelancers, employees, and clients all put together.

The translation and interpretation profession is suffering the same problems.

Few clients appreciate the many years of study and acquisition of one or more foreign languages, expertise, skills, experience, education, and credentials.

The translation and interpretation profession is plagued by unprofessional business practices. This is causing the deterioration in the quality of translations and interpretations worldwide.

Countless professional translators and interpreters are leaving the profession altogether, causing a decline in the value, quality, and standards worldwide.

Our Mission.

The mission of this blog is to spread the word about respect, appreciation, and awareness for professional translators, interpreters and their clients.

What is your mission?

Our mission and purpose is bigger than this blog.  We want to make people think.

Whether you are a professional translator, interpreter or client, consider your mission in business and life.

What is your (your company's) purpose?

What are your (your company's) values?

Do you respect and value yourself, your employees, freelancers, services, and clients?

What is in your heart?

At the end of the day we are all only human, we all eat, we all sleep, we all bleed, we all live, and we all die.

We're parents, we're children, we're siblings, we're family, we're friends, and so much more.

We are fragile.

Life is fragile.

If tomorrow never comes,

How will you be remembered?

As a person who was kind, fair, loving, and helpful?

Or a person who was rude, unfair, selfish, and arrogant?

Our goal is the former.  Will you join us?

SPREADING THE WORD BLOG is the official blog for eLingual.Net

eLingual.Net's mission is to spread happiness worldwide through happy translators, interpreters, and clients.

For the professional translator and interpreter, this means no middleman, no job bidding, setting their own fees, and the freedom to turn their services into a sustainable business.

For the clients, this means having access to ethical, quality and professional services, and the opportunity of helping support the services of professionals worldwide.

If you want to know more about what it takes to do a translation or an interpretation read our Translation and Interpretation Client articles.

As always, thank you for reading and sharing my posts.  Feel free to connect or email me, Carmen Arismendy.  I'm a professional Spanish interpreter-translator and founder of eLingual.Net.  I started the eLingual Network because I could not find a fair, no middleman, no job bidding, ethical, and transparent meeting place for translators, interpreters and clients online.  The website is in beta phase and by no means perfect but it's a step in the right direction.
Join our happy growing community, let's work together!
